None of them match up to it mate. The processor speed is faster on two of those, but it's only a dual processor the one I linked to is a quad processor (so 4 x 2.5Ghz cores instead of 2 x 2.93Ghz cores, you do the maths ;) )

None of them get close on hard drive size and only one has the same amount of RAM.

And two of them will cost you more.

It's your choice of course but I know which I'd go for. :)

The only very sight downside to the one I linked is it comes with Vista installed, should be said however that I've stated many times on here, I loved Vista, but a lot of people didn't. Windows 7 does kick Vista into the gutter there's no doubt about that, but lets just say don't make your decision based on the operating system, if you want Windows 7, there's ways of getting it ;)

Yeah I realised when I looked back.

You know the specs of my PC. About the only thing I changed is I banged in an extra 2GB of memory. I am looking at selling the base unit with mouse and keyboard. What, in your opinion, would be a fair price?

I don't remember the specs of your PC Rob, but if you send me one of the msinfo32.exe saved files from it I can get that info. Although to be honest I'm very out of date with current PC prices as I don't really have any dealings with second hand ones. Best bet is get the exact spec and hunt for similar on Ebay and see what they go for.

JLP, what do you use a computer for? You don't need to spend £500 on a PC with a spec you're not going to make use of.

If all you're doing is browsing the net and typing stuff, why not just get this?
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/179416

It's more than capable of doing that, I can guarantee it, because I sell and build machines of a similar spec to this and they are super quick.

Not capable of playing games though, so if you want something a bit meatier for your kids to play games on, get this:

The Fujitsu machine is a reasonable spec, but I wouldnt touch Fujitsu with a barge pole if someone paid me to. The other one is lower spec'd than any of the others we're talking about and having spoken to Rob on the phone, there is a gaming requirement (within reason) as the kids want to be able to play certain games such as Sims 3 etc. So not massive gaming but some.

Although of course all we can do is recommend things and its up to Rob what he buys.

I usse it for the net and some word processing. Kids like games such as Sims and football manager games.

I tend to use it to store music to transfer to MP3 player and watch the odd DVD on it

If so, I'd have a serious look at this, it's a refurb, but being sold by PCWorld and comes with a 12 month guarantee and it's way higher spec'd than your current machine.

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/033768

found this one in Currys. Can get the base unit for £420 and the one in the link comes with a 20" monitor for £520.

http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/c ... sku=237598

This one is new and the specs look pretty similar.

Decided on this one

http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/c ... sku=237598

£399 with a discount code.

To top it all, someone at work is selling 2 22" flatscreen wide monitors for 375. One has a small scratch at the bottom but I can have the perfect one for £55.

Now all I have to do is sell this machine and monitor.

That's a bit steep, is it not?

Does anyone know of a way to convert .rm files to .avi files that doesn't involve paying for software or having a watermark over the video?
It's literally just one video that I want to convert.

I'd check out Boilsoft for their various convertor programs. Not honestly sure if the trial version has any limitations on it but I use several of their other convertors and they're superb.
